Ethical Practice in Mental Health Nursing

The theme Conscience and Consequence focuses on ethical practice in mental health nursing and the care and wellbeing of people with mental illness. This peer reviewed conference examines ethical dilemmas, development of ethical services and rights of consumers and carers.

I found the conference both invigorating and thought provoking, particularly in light of the Pezzuti report, we still have a long way to go with ethical managment of mental health issues.

This year’s conference was held on the Central Coast. It was the final event for 2008’s continuing professional education and practice development program for mental health nurses in NSW.
